Emseatee - The Nostos EP Part 2

Returning to the imprint for the second instalment of ‘The Nostos EP’, Emseatee drop four effervescent tracks on 8Kō Records this December.

Emseatee is the musical moniker of Leigh Redding, originating from the phonetic spelling of the letters MCT which is an initialisation of the producer’s first ever foray into digital music at the age of 6 through the use of a binary based ScienceFair toy named ‘Micro Computer Trainer’. Following on from the first release, which received plaudits from the likes of John Digweed and Nadia Struiwigh, ‘The Nostos Part 2’ follows the theme of nostalgia whilst employing more edgy and harsh elements to the equation.

‘Mimic’ inaugurates the package using tantalising synths and soaring pads whilst crunchy percussion works beneath. Distorted guitar riffs and a sultry bassline then make up ‘Allocate’ before ‘Bury’ delivers infectious keys and mesmerising atmospherics. Concluding the package with an ominous aesthetic, ‘Peer’ is an amalgamation of syncopated beats and ethereal chords.

Emseatee ‘The Nostos EP Part 2’ drops on 8Kō Records on 15th December 2016.
