Flow Festival’s Reaktor Backyard is the verdant oasis full of good vibes for club music aficionados in the post-industrial Suvilahti area. On Friday, Backyard will be taken over by Fred P with his futuristic take on house and techno and Tone B. Nimble with his signature blend of soul, gospel and disco. One of the leading lights of New York’s house renaissance, Levon Vincent, will also be a standout moment on the Backyard stage, plus the incredible Mafalda, who was born in Portugal and has established herself as one of the most interesting names on the London club scene. Friday’s Finnish performers at Backyard are Tomi K who plays soulful dance tunes and Sebastian Holm & Marju with their charmingly playful touch.

On Saturday Reaktor Backyard hosts Detroit techno ambassador and progressive house producer Theo Parrish, the Raw Silk duo with their blend of soul, disco and jazz, and Chilean producer of dark-hued deep houseValesuchi. Also taking the stage and stirring up the dance floor will be the highly praised Palms Trax and Jeremy Spellacey, known for his multifaceted touch as a selector. The home team will field Olli Koponen mashing some downbeat and ambient up into a bit of trance and house, and Sansibar’s unique soundscapes.

On Sunday, the Reaktor Backyard audience will dance to the rhythms proffered by Darryn Jones with his collection stretching from soul to punk, Belgian eccentric Nosedrip and long-time members of famous German club Salon des Amateurs Lena Willikens and Vladimir Ivkovic. Finland will be represented by the cosmopolitan music enthusiast Lauri Soini and the Männikkö siblings with their Disco Obscura concept.

This year, Backyard is partnering with Finnish strategy, design and technology company Reaktor.
