Electronic music icon Thomas Gold teamed up with Israeli heavyweight producers Teamworx for their new single “We Remember,” a nostalgic but hard-hitting ode to the OG of the electronic genre. Abandoning any previous penchant for melodic sounds, Gold and Teamworx employ minimalistic bass and mechanical synths to drive the track’s climb to an uncompromising drop. “We Remember” is simply made to be played on huge stages that can support the immensity of its sound, making it a guaranteed festival-friendly tune. The new release follows Gold’s Universal Music single “Get Up” with Eagle-Eye Cherry, and Teamworx’s collaboration with Dannic “Bump N’ Roll.”
Over the last decade, Thomas Gold has become one of the most well-known dance music producers of his time. The German artist solidified his influence in 2008, when his now-iconic remix of Delerium’s “Silence” was named Beatport’s “Best Progressive House Song” of the year. Gold went on to release on major labels including Armada, Axtone, Size, Toolroom, Spinnin’ and Revealed; his crowning success thus far has been “Magic” has almost 60M streams on Spotify. His electrifying abilities as a live performer have earned him a global following and headlining gigs everywhere from festivals like Ultra, EDC, Coachella, Mysteryland, and Tomorrowland, and clubs such as Pacha, Ushuaia, Amnesia and more. The Israeli exports and label veterans Teamworx first exploded onto the scene with Corey James and their track “Make the Crowd Go,” which received massive support from industry heavyweights and is still played by Steve Angello in his live sets. They’ve collaborated with Nicky Romero himself on “Champion Sound” and “Deep Dark Jungle,” as well as remixed his “Only For Your Love” and “Ring the Alarm.” In 2018, Teamworx played at EDC China as well as Protocol’s showcase at ADE, and this summer performed at Ultra Korea. As always, the Protocol family has plenty more up their sleeves coming soon, so keep an eye out for what’s next!
