Joy Club & TIEKS urge you to get ‘Lifted’
From the heart of London’s deep house scene, tastemaker acts Joy Club & TIEKS have struck a scintillating vocal collab with the new release, ‘Lifted’. Bursting out with upwinding, sun-drenched rhythms, lively vocals and feelgood piano chords, it’s clear this teamup is aiming for a springtime anthem, brightening up everyone’s day with its colourful and upbeat vibes. Prepare for liftoff as this new single as it’s out now on Spinnin’ Records.
Formed midway through 2019, Joy Club is made up of Grammy nominated writers and producers Nathan Cross, James Watts and Rick Boardman who united under the vision for a new artist project. Their common goal is to provide a sense of positivity and joy for everyone involved in the scene, from artists and audiences. This has proven a successful philosophy, resulting in a powerful claim to fame in 2020, remixing Martin Solveig’s ‘Juliet & Romeo’ into utter club bliss, quickly followed by the production of the much-praised single, ‘In The Night’.
Fellow London act TIEKS enjoyed a similar triumphal path. His unique blend of house and electronic pop led him to release a series of widely acclaimed singles, including 2016’s soul tinged summer anthem ‘Sunshine’ (feat. Dan Harkna) and 2017’s ‘Say A Prayer’, featuring none other than legendary singer Chaka Khan alongside Popcaan.
What binds these two acts is a love for sparkling rhythms, warm chords and inspiring vocals. ‘Lifted’ clearly ticks all these boxes, laying down a rousing house groove, driven by sweet piano chords and vocals that bring rays of sunshine with lines like ‘woke up dancing’ and ‘feel so lifted’. It marks the hidden agenda of both Joy Club and TIEKS, not only thirsty to deliver catchy sounds for the dance floor, but also wanting to brighten up their day while producing them.
‘Lifted’ is the dreamed anthem for this coming springtime, with its deep layers of sun drenched sounds and soulful vocals finishing off a two-year festival dry spell in the best possible way. The weather is clearing up, as well as the scene’s mood, while dance floors are filling up again and spirits are ‘Lifted’. Here’s the right gem for the moment.
