Breaking Boundaries: gothking’s Triumphant Return
Boundary pushing and genre defying, Andy Zozyulya, aka ‘gothking’, has returned to the music scene with his new single ‘Dreamcast’.
A track which is intimate yet expands on Andy’s creative vision, ‘Dreamcast’ marks a new sound for gothking, balancing the optimistic nihilism of falling in love with the addictive nature of pleasure, through comparisons between romance and video games.
Andy’ sunique talent of blending introspection with genre transcending sounds makes ‘Dreamcast’ passionate yet unpredictable, ethereal yet raw, all whilst remaining unfiltered and honest throughout.
Speaking further on the track, Andy says: “I’ve always seen my music as a way to escape reality, and I want to make it on my own terms. As an industry insider, I’ve learned a long time ago not to have illusions, so my biggest goal right now is making music the way I want. Human beings should be constantly evolving, and I constantly find myself writing texts and producing content in the creative industry.”
Inspired by the hyper-punk and hip-hop stylings of Big Piig and Lil Yachty, ‘Dreamcast’ is a new venture for gothking, moving away from goth-punk-rap stylings of previous releases to a more melodic, transcendent pop form.
Having collaborated with big names in the industry such as Tommy Cash, Little Big and Viratempo, gothking is no stranger to creating music which captivates its audience. ‘Dreamcast’ takes its listeners on a journey through the unfettered thoughts about love, new relationships and infatuation which grip Andy and, by extension, us.
Produced by San-Paulo’s Guilherme Vittoraci, ‘Dreamcast’ not only marks a new chapter for gothking, but is a promise for more intriguing music to follow.
