Esther Anaya connects with ‘Higher Self’ on new single
Colombian talent Esther Anaya’s resume is already impressively stacked – in fact fans of US sports may already be more familiar with her than anticipated. The official DJ for the LA Chargers, Anaya has performed at the Super Bowl, Pro-Bowl, NBA All Star Game, PGA WM Open and the PGA Tournament of Champions. Add to that she was selected as the 2023 Face of Cadillac, and directly collaborated with Snoop Dogg on his cut ‘BAYC’, and it’s easy to see why the insane hype around her has been building. Today she adds to it as she drops original single ‘Higher Self’.
Blending deep house, future-rave, and tech-house into one heady concoction, Anaya uses the track to share her message of rebirth, self-confidence, and harnessing your energies to become the person you were always meant to be. “Higher Self is a song that talks about your transition from the lowest version of yourself to your best version and mastering your higher self,” she says. “Inspired by a period of time in my life where I felt vulnerable, and lost, trying to follow what everyone else wanted me to do. Finally realizing that we’re all unique and have our own purpose and trademark in life. Getting out of my comfort and tapping into my spiritual higher self for guidance and forgetting about all the negativity & obstacles around me that were trying to pull me down in life.”
“Getting out of her comfort zone” for Anaya translates to opening for Maluma on his 2018 European tour, securing a residency at infamous Vegas club Zouk performing alongside the likes of Tiësto, Zedd, and DJ Snake, playing violin on Lil Yachty’s album ‘Teenage Emotions’, sharing stages with Rihanna, Christian Castro, Ana Gabriel, Lunay, 50 Cent, Flo Rida, David Guetta and Calvin Harris, and appearing on the covers of Latina Magazine, L’Officiel Arabia, and Grazia. and composing music for the DreamWorks film ‘Abominable’ (we did say her resume was impressive…).
As ‘Higher Self’ brings streams in across multiple platforms, Anaya dropped the additional bombshell that this year will also see an official collaboration with none other than Sean Kingston. And if that wasn’t going to make her busy enough, she also spearheads Asaf Angels, a non-profit organisation committed to charitable causes (www.asafangels.org).
