The Writers Block – Don’t Look Any Further (Endor Remix)
The Writers Block (TWB) – comprised of Uni friends’ Detox, Kam and Haile – is the perfect amalgamation of each one’s individual production styles. All originally from South London they became immersed within the garage, house and grime scene from an early age, with their different musical backgrounds seamlessly intertwining into the collaborative project that is TWB.
Today, and adding his own unique slant on the trio’s stunning single ‘Don’t Look Any Further’ comes the brand new remix from Endor. Check it below:
Lifting the track to an entirely different realm, the London producer transforms the original edit into a piano fueled pumper. Starting off with a wistful melody and punchy snare drums, the track’s electrifying vocal hook is paired against rhythmic piano chords to give it a new breath of life. Turning it one notch deeper, Endor injects his signature reverberating bass into this edit and in turn provides a captivating remix that stays true to the song’s garage and house influences.
The Writers Block have already garnered support from the likes of Radio 1, 1XTRA and Capital XTRA to name but a few. This has allowed them to build on their initial success, demanding the attention of Ultra Music and Sony who were quick to get them on board. Now the eagerly anticipated ‘Don’t Look Any Further’ is scheduled for release on December 14th. In the meantime, Berlin based DJ and producer Wankelmut, accepted the call to remix this track and the outcome does not disappoint.
In true testament to his remixing capabilities, that became apparent through his globally successful remixes of Asaf Avidan’s “Reckoning Song” and Emma Louise’s “Jungle”, Wankelmut once again has imprinted his own style on a record to great effect. A deep, more relaxed bass line, and syncopated rhythms have transformed the mix into a much more progressive and chilled house track, while still remaining true to the original through the unchanged vocals.
Alongside this remix comes a video straight out of the world of sensual hairdressing. Think Zohan meets Mad Men. With risqué close-ups, lusciously groomed locks and a pampered pooch, this frolicsome video acts as a perfect accompaniment to Wankelmut’s remix.
