BEYOND THE BEATS: GEORGE FLEMING’S DYNAMIC IMPACT ON THE UK NIGHTLIFE’S FUTURE

George Fleming, the force behind Save Our Scene (SOS), has set ablaze a mission to safeguard the very heartbeat of the nation’s after-hours culture. With an eye and ear tapped into the pulse of city life, George is a cultural compass, steering the protection and evolution of the UK music landscape.

A trailblazer in every sense, George embodies an unwavering determination, refusing to accept ‘no’ as an answer. His relentless pursuit of building a community through music fuels a fervent drive that propels him toward success. With a natural flair for leadership and a keen event planner, George has orchestrated countless viral pop up events with some of the UK’s leading artists, including their iconic barge parties  with Rudimental & Joy Anonymous in the vibrant heart of Hackney. Most recently, George was the mastermind behind six events, in six cities, all on the same day, generating awareness for the collapse of cultural spaces across the UK. Here’s what MixMag had to say.. Orchestrating something on this scale is impressive, yet George envisions a not too distant future where he will expand to a mammoth 50 towns & cities in one day. In the face of governmental inaction to support the arts, George remains undeterred & committed to championing the cause through his unwavering efforts.

Tapped into the very heartbeat of the UK music scene, Fleming’s trajectory is poised to see him shoulder to shoulder with the industry’s elite. His vision, paired with an unparalleled tenacity, signifies his inevitable rise as one of the foremost figures on the UK’s musical landscape.

As the founder of Save Our Scene (SOS), George is fueled by an unwavering passion for dance music, igniting a wave of change destined to reverberate across generations. During the pandemic’s darkest days, Fleming spearheaded SOS, rallying support for Help Musicians and orchestrating the monumental Freedom To Dance demonstration, etching a legacy that resonates with music lovers, party people and beyond, achieving national recognition in the likes of NME, Sky News, BBC News & many more.

Transitioning from a campaign to an indomitable force, Save Our Scene evolved into an events & media powerhouse, a backbone of support for the live music and nightlife sector. In a dazzling array of collaborations, SOS boasts an impressive roster of partnerships, including industry giants like Sony, Universal, Glastonbury, Nike, and a myriad of others. Their remarkable achievements reverberate across milestones, notably amassing over £40,000 for charity and clinching the prestigious ‘London’s Hero’ title at the AIM X BBC Music awards.

George Fleming says; “Culture is Calling! We have lost 30% of venues in the past three years and the rate of closures is only gathering speed. Debt from the pandemic, rising costs and soaring energy bills are crippling the very spaces which give us freedom, inspiration and real life human connection. We must stand up for UK Culture! The world needs it.”

This impassioned campaign urges the Government to wield its influence by slashing the current VAT rate to 12.5% in the spring budget. Such a move would furnish thousands of independent businesses with the financial lifeline they urgently need to weather the ongoing crisis, safeguarding countless jobs in the process.
