Chris Malinchak unveils soul-tinged new single ‘Cellophane’

New York DJ and producer Chris Malinchak kicks off 2021 with new single ‘Cellophane’, out January 29th.

Pairing soulful female vocals with groove-laden production, ‘Cellophane’ is a blissed-out modern dance jam that sees the Jersey-based artist tap into his signature style. Regarding the track, Malinchak said, “Don’t be shy. All you need to do is ask“. ‘Cellophane’ follows on from singles ‘Pick You Up’, ‘When the World Stops Turning’, ‘Somebody’ and ‘Happiness’, with all five tracks set to feature on his forthcoming album, Night Work, out later in the year.

The contemporary face of chill-out dance music, Chris Malinchak thrust onto the scene a new sensitivity and aesthetic via his signature sound. With 2013 smash ‘So Good To Me’, an underground treasure that crossed over to be a massive pop hit peaking at #2 on the UK singles chart, Malinchak created an awareness into the mainstream of his emotive music, bringing a new depth and soul to electronic music. He has spent the years since reaching the hearts of fans internationally with his genre-bending blend of jazz, R&B and dance, drawing support from tastemakers such as Pete Tong and Adele and performing at Coachella, Creamfields, and BBC Radio 1’s ‘Big Weekend’ in Ibiza.

More recently he has relaunched a weekly Friday night show on Sirius XM Chill, The Malinchak Show, and used the lockdown period to launch Friday Night Live, a weekly live performance that sees him play whatever comes to mind/heart on the piano and stream via Instagram.

The ‘Godfather of Chill’ starts the new year just as strongly as he finished the last.
