James Hurr & Simon Field drop tech house stomper Vibe Like That

Producer extraordinaries James Hurr and Simon Field release the tech house stomper ‘Vibe Like That’ featuring alt-pop artist, Georgia Meek. It drops on 10th March on the indie imprint Perfect Havoc whose expert A&R flip from signing crossover dance tunes to underground club cuts, with this latest outing firmly sitting in the latter camp.

Long regarded as one of the go-to producers in the UK electronic scene, James Hurr has made a name for himself as a prolific artist/writer/producer under both his name and a string of aliases. His collaboration roster reads like a who’s who of pop and dance including such prestigious names as Tiesto, Acraze, Meduza, Basement Jaxx, Mark Knight and Beverley Knight. With consistent support from BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM, signings across all major labels as well Ministry, Spinnin, Ultra and Armada, and over 100 releases on Toolroom Records, James Hurr is the real deal.

Teaming up with Hurr on ‘Vibe Like That’ is the awarded producer and songwriter, Simon Field. From Oslo in Norway, Field produces a distinct sound entirely through analogue gear. Some of his most popular cuts have come via Perfect Havoc to include ‘Shake The Tree’ (20 million streams), and ‘Out of the Blue’ (6 million streams) with a string of DJ A-listers supporting his work from Tiësto and Hardwell to David Guetta, and Benny Benassi. With a catalogue of work that has featured in the Academy Award-nominated film Passengers and in the Netflix series Elite, as well as being the curator of one of the biggest independent playlists on Spotify (Ibiza 2023 – 582k fans), Field is a constant force in creating original and modern sounds.

Featuring on ‘Vibe Like That’ is the British singer-songwriter, Georgia Meek, adding to her string of credits alongside Punctual, Yoshi Breen, Camden Cox and Ki Fitzgerald. The songstress made her explosive entrance in 2018 with the critically acclaimed single ‘Bare’, later scoring some of Love Island’s hottest moments over on ITV2 and capturing the support of BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music. As a performer, Meek is anything but that, wowing tens of thousands of fans at the UK’s best-loved festivals, Radio 1’s (virtual) Big Weekend, Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape.

‘Vibe Like That’ has a kick-ass, punching bassline with warm drums that created in the analogue style of Field’s studio and with Hurr’s masterful touch, result in a solid tech house stomper. Georgia Peek’s vocal performance is outstanding with the power and range to rival the best house music vocalists of all time.

There’s an extra level of creativity in the output of Perfect Havoc seen so far this year from its trademark crossover dance to melodic and tech house. Shortlisted for Best Independent Record Label at the 2023 Music Week Awards, Perfect Havoc’s niche of commercial dance alongside club-focused sounds has accumulated over 10 billion global streams and given rise to six UK Top 20 singles and multiple platinum, gold, and silver awards.

Keep an ear out for more releases in 2023 with cuts also from Ros-T, Freejak, Ben Pearce, Varski and more.
