Protocol Releases Genre-Spanning Annual “Protocol Lab – ADE 2020” EP

This year’s global pandemic has the legendary Amsterdam Dance Event looking much different in 2020. However, Nicky Romero and his Protocol family are dedicated to making fans feel like they’re still dancing all night at Melkweg. Although the crew can’t host the annual “Nicky Romero & Friends” showcase at ADE, their “Protocol Lab” EP series is back to relive all the positive memories and give people a glimpse of what ADE and Protocol showcases are about! The 2020 edition contains 5 exclusive tracks from both new and familiar Protocol artists, spanning a myriad of sounds that are guaranteed to remind listeners of their favorite nights at the Amsterdam‘s conference. Timmo Hendriks and Lindequist‘s “Lost” opens the EP with soulful vocals and stunning progressive melodies, followed by newcomer DJ Junior‘s debut bouncy house track “My Love.” Protocol‘s resident deep and dark producer DØBER teamed up with Almero for “Focus,” complete with a driving bassline and plenty of mechanical synths. Next up is the tech-house influenced “Right Time” by SOVTH & Sisters Cap before the EP is rounded out by Mr. Sid & Laura van Dam‘s “Calling,” ending the compilation on an uplifting and energetic note.

Founded by Nicky Romero in 2012, Protocol Recordings is one of the leading imprints for innovative house music; it boasts a roster of heavy-hitters complemented with immensely talented up-and-comers, all with a diverse range of sounds that are guaranteed to light up a dance floor. The label has cultivated a strong presence in the dance music scene from Miami Music Week to the Amsterdam Dance Event and beyond, consistently bringing the good vibes and wild nights with beloved veterans and fresh faces in the live performance circuit. Although the global pandemic prevents them from making their usual live appearances, Nicky and Protocol team always have something up their sleeves. This year the label has celebrated its 200th release, so they aren’t close to slowing down. Expect more cutting-edge new music and exciting concepts coming very soon!
