Spellbinding Multi-Platinum Songwriter Cimo Fränkel unleashes ‘Magical’ Single

LA-based Pop musician Cimo Fränkel released his latest single ‘Magical on the 24th of March via Cimo Fränkel / 100th Meridian Music / AWAL. Being his first release of 2023, the record was premiered by Muze FM and is a welcome addition to his impressive discography: having co-written the multi-platinum-winning record ‘Sex’, which has been streamed over 1 billion times, alongside prominent electronic trio Cheat Codes and Dutch DJ Kris Kross Amsterdam, the musician boasts support from publications CLASH Magazine, EDM.com, Your EDM, Dancing Astronaut, METAL Magazine, EARMILK, NOTION Magazine, and Medium.com/ Authority Magazine. On air, his music has received spins from BBC Radio London’s Judi Love and iHeartRadio.

The musician has won a Buma National Award for his Double Platinum record ‘Mooie Dag’ with Jayh, while his collaboration with Armin van Buuren, Strong Ones, landed at #37 on Billboard Charts. The songwriter also co-wrote Hardwell’s track ‘How You Love Me’, featuring Snoop Dogg and Conor Maynard, and contributed to both Yellow Claw’s song ‘Shotgun’ as well as R3HAB & A Touch of Class’s track ‘All Around The World (LaLaLa)’. It comes as no surprise that listeners have streamed Cimo’s music over 2 billion times across streaming platforms.

Cimo Fränkel has waved his pen and conjured a soulful number, a single titled ‘Magical’. Crisp snares offset a steady kick, while a strong Funk bass establishes the groove. With a touch of ‘80s flair, Cimo reminisces about love lost in a song that draws its flavour from his musical roots, but with a contemporary pop twist comparable to The Weeknd.

Cimo Fränkel was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he grew up around his father, a funk musician who would invite Cimo to join him in the studio and enlighten him on the DIY ethos of funk culture. At age fifteen, Cimo would explore music production and collaborate with other young and passionate Dutch musicians. The musician has cited the works of  Michael Jackson and Huey Lewis as highly inspirational to the artist he is today. His own sound contains elements of Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean and Tate McRae.
