HOST - Stories From Sa Talaia III
HOSH continues his excellent run of form with the latest in his on going series of EP releases. They come from his album, Stories From Sa Talaia, and land on his own new label fryhide. Each one explores fresh tech territory and this latest EP finds him linking with a range of contemporary artists to serve up even more heat.
Up first is a tune with Pig & Dan, Atlantis Is Not A Fairy Tale. It’s a spine tingling and scintillating cut that broods and bubbles with late night menace. The synths are trippy and harmonic bell sounds rain down from above. Brotherhood Balearea is then a more light hearted track with mending synths and clacking hits. It builds to a trance inducing high and will carry you away to the next level.
Next up it’s Belgium producer Karmon who links with HOSH for Awakening of the Birds. This one again hammers home a smooth and serene musical vibe with rolling beats, lingering piano chords and neon synths extend out into the night sky.
Last of all, Meeting Mia Lee finds HOSH go solo and in doing so he goes for a tender and sombre house tune with plaintive piano and undulating beats. It’s emotive and makes a lasting impact and rounds out a fine EP.
