The W0LF – American Gray EP
Early June will see The Pool House imprint returns with the ‘American Gray’ EP, coming courtesy of The W0LF.
Chicago born and bred The W0LF has long been ingrained in electronic music having grown up in the birthplace of House music and taken up studies in audio engineering, since then The W0LF has been working in radio stations, event promotion, engineering, remixing and many other areas of the industry. Here we see The W0LF deliver some fresh output via The Pool House imprint having been running with this crew in recent years, hosting the events under the same name that spawned the birth of this exciting and fledgling record label.
Kicking things off here is ‘Chicago’ which sees The W0LF deliver a ghostly bass heavy number fuelled by glitching synth hooks, howling pad lines and a relentless dose of wandering sub bass to open up the package.
Following we see The W0LF pair up with Chicago’s Happyghost for two collaborative compositions, the first of which ‘Zillya’ sees the pairing deliver a Nu-Disco tinged workout with stuttering bass licks, low slung rhythms and meandering arpeggios. Then the second offering entitled ‘Force 1’ takes on an 8-bit electro vibe with bleeping Casio style synth lines, bubbling sequences and sweeping percussive programming.
The W0LF then rounds things off with another solo venture entitled ‘Wild Onion’ closing things on a dark and hypnotic tip with warbling synth licks, moody piano stabs and a shuffled rhythmic swing.
The W0LF’s ‘American Gray’ EP is out on The Pool House 8th June 2015.
