SevenDoors - Balaena

Hailing from its mothership imprint Circus Recordings, label boss Yousef proudly shines the spotlight on his supplementary and much renowned outlet Carioca Records with a more refined musical approach. With a string of notable releases on the label, Carioca is designed to be less of a reflection of Yousef’s DJ sets, but rather a wider musical landscape, offering a more hypnotic blend of house and techno. Not always necessarily aimed at DJ’s, but instead music enthusiasts searching for a deeper range of sounds and influences.

Coinciding with the re-launch of one of the most remarkable labels to date, the latest release on Carioca comes in the form of an intricately crafted EP from UK born producer SevenDoors. An undisputed talent who is rapidly rising to stardom, his drive and passion for music is evident, carefully constructing audio with an abundance of passion, feeling and emotion. Very much a conceptual vision of music developed over many years, SevenDoors’ is now ready to be unleashed upon the global dance community.

“As this endeavor is strictly from an artistic perspective I felt it appropriate for the releases to run parallel with a new artist” – Yousef

With a distinctive production style, SevenDoors’ track ‘Movement Of Whale’ (Diynamic)’ was one of last year’s standout classics at Sankeys Ibiza gaining notable support from Solomun in almost all his sets, most significantly during his iconic Boiler Room recording at the BPM festival. The momentum has continued to grow in fine form, with SevenDoors also being charted by leading names in the industry such as Radio 1 DJ’s Pete Tong and Annie Mac, along with making regular appearances in sets from Scuba and AME.

With the EP set for release in May, this three-track production is the perfect culmination of SevenDoors’ euphoric sound. Each track providing a different shade of melodic techno, drawing inspiration from the ocean as the title suggests.
