Blende feat Gustaph – Running

London based Swede Blende is an unashamed disco advocate, creating retro music for the modern age. Featuring the lively vocals of Hercules & Love Affair singer Gustaph, ‘Running’ takes the height of 80’s electro-funk into the present day.

Released on Ghent-based Eskimo Recordings, ‘Running’ is remixed by Dutch heroes Kraak & Smaak who stretch the track out into an warm, stirring house anthem as well as Knight One, who slows the pace and shines up the original into an exhilarating pop classic.

BACKGROUND
Johan Blende is a Swedish national based in London and part of the Eskimo extended family of artists since his 2012 EP release ‘Fake Love’. With almost a decade of experience, his mixture of influences creates a sound that is all his own, yet has been likened to works of everyone from Daft Punk to Hall & Oates & Timbaland.

Blende and both the remixers appear on Eskimo’s Green Collection, a timeless journey into the alluring sound of the imprint that is released November 2014. Kraak & Smaak have been on a continuous upward curve since they first broke out of Leiden, Netherlands with their debut album ‘Boogie Angst’ and have never looked back since, playing massive live band shows at the cream of the world’s festivals from Glastonbury to Detroit Movement, EXIT to Bestival. Their 2013 album topped US radio charts and got massive support by tastemaker blogs like Earmilk, Dancing Astronaut and MTV Iggy.

Knight One creates airy and dreamy cut and paste songs with a heavy nostalgic shade. Blending rough DIY recordings, found sounds and borrowed textures which harmoniously co-exist within a somewhat naive, pop-framed structure. With his prolific remix work for acts such as the Crystal Fighters and Rasmus Faber, Knight One´s unique approach to pop music has already caused quite a stir worldwide whilst attracting the attention of many.
