Groove Squared - Groove Squared – Chemistry

Groove Squared, the alias for Italian Producer Paco Terio, really hit home with the huge success that was ‘Chemisty’, taken from his 2014 album ‘Aaron’. This new release comes via Sicilian label Engrave LTD, and pushes the boundaries of the labels’ previous releases. Engrave LTD, having been born out of love and commitment to delivering quality music, prove once again with ‘Chemistry’ that they are a tastemaker to be reckoned with.

The 4 track EP opens with the Dodi Palese mix of the original track. Soft piano strikes and heavenly vocals begin the array of mystical sounds that deeply penetrate the mind of the listener. The track develops slowly, giving one time to adjust to the minimal elements that enter. Carefully placed white noise, matched with a solid kick and on-beat rim shots, gently carry he listener into the ascendency of the third minute where the track becomes drenched in a rich melodic synth line and padwork.

The second track see’s label head honcho Mauro Di Martino, aka Musumeci, refix ‘Chemistry’ in a more uptempo and minimal house fashion. He enhances the resilient joyful melody of the original with transcendent qualities, allowing the elements to walk alongside tastefully plucked synth shimmers and the ever-present, euphoric vocals.

The third edit of ‘Chemistry’ invites Dodi Palese to up the tempo even more by bringing an immediate rolling techno vibe to the track. With a pounding kick, distant panned melodies and vocals chops, this edit is certain to get hearts pumping. Allowing small sections of the original melody to creep through in and out, the space in this edit is of true Dodi fashion. The final version of this track is another edit by the talented Musumeci. This time he’s stripped the vocals out to allow the cleverly crafted harmonies of the original cut to move and spiral into warm synth frenzies.
